Abdullah Hidayat Mohamad
Co Founder - Business Development
Abdullah Hidayat Mohamad has 12 years of progressive experience in planning, designing and implementing long-term strategic action programmes within the financial/banking sector. Hidayat had exposure in preparing the intervention strategy and policy for OIC member countries and developed business strategy and strategic plan for Islamic Corporation for Development of Private Sector (ICD) and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB). He was also responsible in setting up an Islamic finance function within PNB to develop a comprehensive Shariah infrastructure and strategy for the company.
Hidayat was a sole participant from Asia among 11 others globally in MIRAS Program (formerly known as Islamic Finance Talent Development Program) organized by ICD in 2015. During the program, he responsible in developing ICD member country business attractiveness index and preparing business plan for Islamic Fintech hub in Middle East. He also co-authored ICD Whitepaper on Developing Human Capital for Sustainability in Islamic Finance.
He is currently engaged by ISRA and IRTI as a project consultant for liquidity management system for Islamic financial institution project and appointed as South East Asia representative for Catalyst Group. Hidayat also sits on the Board of HALL Amanie, an independent consulting company that provides full cycle solutions to Halal Industry by focusing on four main pillars; compliance, strategy and sustainability, technology and human capital development.
Currently, Hidayat is the Founder and Managing Partner of Social Finance Sdn Bhd, a bespoke consulting company providing advice and leadership on social finance and services which deliver social impact and economic return.
Hidayat holds double master degree in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA, Australia and in Islamic Finance from IE Business School, Spain. Graduated from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh in actuarial science, he also is a Certified Financial Planner and holds Kaplan-Norton BSC Certification.
Nor Azamin Salleh
Nor Azamin Salleh aged 52 has over 30 years of experience in fund management and financial services industry. He has held some key positions in leading asset management companies including Maybank Asset Management Group Bhd , Asian Islamic Investment Management Sdn Bhd ("AIIMAN") - a subsidiary of DBS Asset Management Pte Ltd, Commerce Asset Fund Managers Sdn Bhd and Avenue Invest Berhad. He is actively involved in the development and growth of fund management industry in the region and was the pioneer in setting up Islamic Asset Management in Malaysia.
Azamin is currently the co-owner and advisor to WeInvest Robo Advisory Solution , Asia’s first digital wealth management solutions provider. Headquartered in Singapore, Weinvest proprietary robo-advisor provides banks, wealth and asset managers, insurance companies and independent financial advisors with a complete end-to-end investment platform which covers tech platform, investment strategies, operations, execution and custody. He is also the advisor to Business Associates Consulting Sdn Bhd (BAC). BAC is currently developing a Salam based liquidity management structure that can be position as an alternative to commodity murabahah. The project is undertaken together with International Syariah Research Academy (ISRA).
Before venturing on his own, he was Regional Group Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Australian National University in 1989. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from OU Business School, United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia. He also attended the Executive Management Program in Tsinghua University Beijing, China in 2012 and the Executive Management Program from Wharton Business School, US in 2015
Tan Swee Yeong
Co Founder - Investments
Tan Swee Yeong is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. He founded his first tech company at the age of 26 and publicly listed it on the Ace Market (formerly known as Mesdaq) of Bursa Malaysia in less than 3 years. The company was acquired by a British company less than 1 year after IPO. He holds 3 records at Bursa Malaysia – the fastest company to be listed from incorporation, the first Ace-listed company to be wholly acquired by a foreign entity and the company with the shortest listed tenure in Bursa Malaysia’s history.
He is also an angel investor and has been investing in numerous tech start-ups since 2009. Some of his most notable exits were the acquisition of Malaysia classified websites Propwall, iBilik and CarSifu by Star Media Berhad in 2013 and the acquisition of Malaysia’s largest cosmetics online retailer, Hermo.my by iStyle Inc of Japan in 2017. He was their first investor, assisted with their subsequent fundraising and lead the exit negotiation during the M&A process.
All in, he successfully founded, invested and exited 3 tech companies within 15 years via an IPO and two trade sales. As part of his personal passion and continuous engagement with the tech sector, he is currently managing a private tech venture builder with the aim of discovering hidden gems and incubating the next disruptive idea. Tan Swee Yeong holds a double degree in Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from University of Sydney, Australia. Prior to founding his first company, he was with Westpac Investment Bank in Sydney.

Rina Neoh has more than 20 years of experience in both the corporate and entrepreneurial world. With a solid foundation in B.Sc. (Hons) Computer Science and a keen business sense acquired through an overseas MBA (International Business), Rina has delivered multi-million dollar returns from small business enterprises, which she has incubated, coached, invested in or promoted. Rina is also instrumental in two IPOs in Australian Stock Exchange and have executed complex cross border mergers and acquisitions. A seasoned executive with an operations and systems perspective, Rina is well known for setting up and developing companies across Asia Pacific, including brick-and-mortar and technology-enabled enterprises.
Rina co-founded Mercatus Capital Pte Ltd, a homegrown incubator based in Singapore and a venture accelerator since 2006. Through its angel networks, Mercatus Group provided seed capital to promising new small ventures, with more than 60 startups seeded and incubated in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, India, China and Hong Kong. Rina holds strategic management roles, directorships and equities in Mercatus Capital, Synapse Global, Unlimited Brands, MindChamps International PreSchool Philippines, Ficus Venture Capital & Fintech Lab.
In addition to managing various companies as director or investor, Rina find time to serve as business coach and adviser to several business advisory boards, NGOs & Universities. Rina spends most of her free time advocating "greenfield” businesses, promoting social entrepreneurship, women empowerment and volunteerism work
Co Founder - Strategic Partnerships
Baiza is a graduate of Monash University, Australia with a degree in Business Studies double majoring in Accounting and Economics. He has 18 years' experience in various fields within the Islamic Finance industry. He started his career as a research associate with Islamic Financial Data Services Ltd. (U.K) specializing in Islamic finance and banking data research before joining IslamiQ Ltd. where he was instrumental in developing the ScreenIslamiQ, the online service that allowed users to access information on Shariah compliant stocks in the major global stock markets.
He was also involved in the IslamiQ advisory team that completed the Shariah structuring of a US$150 million Islamic private equity fund focusing on dynamic and undervalued Asian companies. After leaving IslamiQ, he moved to Guidance Financial Group LLC, an international Islamic financial services company based in Washington D.C. where he was part of the investment team that structured a Musharakah Mutanaqisah based Islamic home financing program for consumers in the U.S market, an innovative mortgage based Islamic Fixed Income security with Freddie Mac and a Pan European Islamic Real Estate fund with ING International amongst others. During his employment with Guidance, he was also seconded to Navis Capital Partners a leading private equity fund management firm to assist in the day to day running of their Islamic private equity funds with an aggregate value of USD 300 million.
At the Amanie Group he served as Managing Director of Amanie Advisors, its global Shariah advisory arm and also as Director of Global Business with Amanie Holdings reporting directly to the Chairman.
His last posting prior to founding Ficus Venture Partners was with the Maybank Group where he started as VP & Regional Head of Business Development for Maybank Asset Management Group and was promoted to be the CEO of Maybank Private Equity where he was tasked to manage a global private equity investment portfolio on behalf of the bank.
